British Silverware was honoured to create the medals for the National Police Chiefs' Council Public Bravery Awards
British Silverware was immensely proud to partner with the Sheffield Assay Office in creating 64 remarkable medals for the National Police Chiefs' Council Police Public Bravery Awards, held last week at the prestigious Cutlers' Hall in Sheffield.
This annual ceremony serves as a powerful tribute to ordinary individuals who have exhibited extraordinary bravery in life-threatening situations throughout the UK.
Among the honourees were individuals who fearlessly dived into rivers to rescue strangers, confronted armed assailants, and rendered critical first aid in the midst of chaos. A highlight of the evening was the prestigious Binney Award, presented to the individual whose actions stood out as truly exceptional. This year, the award was bestowed upon Leanne Lucas, a dedicated yoga and dance teacher who sustained multiple injuries while shielding children during the tragic Southport attack in July 2024. She was one of five courageous individuals commemorated for their heroic actions during this distressing incident.
Jackie Tear, Managing Director of British Silverware, expressed, "It was an incredible honour to create these sterling silver and gold-plated medals and to be part of a ceremony that celebrates the bravery of ordinary people facing extreme challenges. The profound and moving stories shared that evening left me deeply humbled and inspired, reminding us of the remarkable courage that resides within our communities.”
